Hello! I am Ursula Harmon. I’ve been an audiobook narrator for 3 years. 

 

Before I even knew how to write, I was a storyteller. I’d scribble nonsense on paper or mash keys on an old typewriter just so I could read my “stories” out loud to my family. Storytelling has always been in my blood. Over the years, that love evolved into singing, acting, and performing—starting in choir and theatre in middle school, continuing into my high school Thespian Troupe, and eventually into civic theatre and coaching at summer theatre camps.

 

Like many artists, adulthood pulled me toward practicality, and I stepped into management roles that left little room for the performing arts. But the creative spark never left. When the pandemic hit, it gave me a chance to reevaluate. I dove back into art, only to discover that monetizing hobbies I already knew how to do and enjoy wasn’t the path for me. I tried writing again, something I still hope to return to, but I craved something more immediate, something new that I could apply my interests and skill sets into—something that felt like home.

 

In 2022, I stumbled upon a TikTok video of an audiobook narrator at work. I watched every video they posted, soaking in every detail of the process. It clicked. Narration combined everything I loved: storytelling, performance, project management, and the intimacy of voice.

 

Since then, I’ve been narrating audiobooks professionally, and I couldn’t be more grateful to do the work I love and learn along the way!
